The National Visitor‘s Center of Protected Areas

The National Visitor’s Center of Protected Areas is like a gateway to the protected areas of Lithuania. The exhibition will help you understand what and why you need to protect, why nature conservation is becoming more and more important for humanity. Here you can find information related to the most valuable areas from a natural point of view, choose nature routes and travel around our region.

The exposition of the visitor center is not only interesting in terms of content, but also surprising in its visual solutions. Upon entering, the visitor will feel as if he is surrounded by nature: grass, birds, grasshoppers all around, and when he closes his head – clouds. You can imagine that you are in a meadow or a forest, you can feel, touch, listen…

Every guest can get acquainted with the system of protected areas. Find out that Lithuania has 5 national, 30 regional parks, 3 state natural and 2 cultural reserves, about 400 sanctuaries, more than 800 state-protected natural heritage objects.

The exceptional value of national and regional parks and reserves is illustrated not only by images, but also by concrete objects. In the cinema hall – the habitat of bats, you can watch movies and listen to the mysterious sounds of nature.

The information on the attractions of the protected areas provided at the terminals will help you discover special places in Lithuania.
