Antakalnis Christmas Tree

The decoration on top of the Christmas tree in Antakalnis district could be considered one of the most original – instead of a star, the tree is decorated with a red gnome hat. Not only the conifer standing in front of the wooden building that houses the Antakalnis eldership is adorned with baubles, but also the branches of the nearby trees spreading beside it. Be sure to visit the symbol of a Vilnius legend located near the tree as well – Vytautas Poška’s Iron Wolf sculpture.

Discover this district with the route ‘Antakalnis. One of the oldest suburbs of Vilnius on a hill: from a noble palace to the home of the first trolleybuses’.

Fabijoniškės Christmas Tree

Garlands of lights create magic. This year, the Christmas tree in Fabijoniškės is surrounded by trees decorated with lights and smaller Christmas trees. The effect of coziness, light, warmth, and hospitality it brings to the courtyard is astonishing!

Festive Installation at the House of Stories

“Gifts that wrap you in feelings, not things,” “Warm socks that always find their pair,” “Stars that twinkle just for you,” “Cocoa that never spills on the blanket”… These and more heartwarming wishes can be found in the interactive Advent calendar at the House of Stories. Upon entering the huge horn installation, you will recognize Vilnius at night, and when you open the doors of its glowing houses, you will find festive wishes that will fill you with kindness.

Jazzy Grigiškės

This year, Grigiškės invites you to a jazzed-up Christmas! The main district tree and the buildings surrounding Church Square will be illuminated with jazz-inspired installations. Grigiškės is reaching for a Christmas record – it plans to create the largest ‘Jingle Bells’ score arranged across the trees. Meanwhile, Grigiškės Library (Kovo 11-osios g. 28) will become home to 1,000 snowmen!

Justiniškės Christmas Tree

Green, gold, and red are the most common colors of Christmas. All of them shine on the impressive Justiniškės Christmas tree, decorated with red bubbles and garlands that emit golden light. By the way, those who believe in color therapy know that red tones symbolize warmth, life, and joy.

Get to know the district with the route “Justiniškės. A combination of striking large-panel blocks and greenery.”

Karoliniškės Christmas Trees

Karoliniškės has the largest and smallest Christmas trees in Vilnius. Until Christmas, the TV tower will glow green during the dark hours of the day and become the tallest Christmas tree in the city, at 326.4 meters. If you come to Karoliniškės to admire it, stop by the exhibition of Santa Claus selfies in the underground gallery of the TV tower (daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

Meanwhile, the natural Karoliniškės district Christmas tree decorated in Joensu Square can be considered the smallest Christmas tree in the capital. It is about 100 times lower than the TV tower. The green tree is “accompanied” by a glowing white Christmas tree installation nearby.

Lazdynai Christmas Tree

In this region, it is traditional to decorate a naturally growing Christmas tree. It is so tall that it is no surprise to see silver stars swaying on its branches alongside brightly colored bubbles. Or perhaps these are comets that have descended from the clouds? All you have to do is make as many wishes as you can count comets.

Playful Šnipiškės | Šnipiškės square

Maybe it’s a coincidence, or maybe Vilnius is becoming a LEGO “embassy”? After all, in mid-December a new Brick Museum opens in the capital, featuring a wealth of exhibits made from LEGO bricks. And while driving along Konstitucijos Avenue, it’s impossible not to notice a Christmas LEGO world with two little houses, glowing lanterns, minifigures wearing Christmas sweaters, and square presents. Even more color is added to these unusual decorations by strings of lights wrapped like “socks” around tree trunks.

You’ll find the district’s main Christmas tree in Šnipiškės Square. Visiting it, you won’t be able to hold back a smile either – instead of gnomes or reindeer, next to the gift-covered tree stand young people on stilts, perhaps symbolizing the local residents of Šnipiškės, dressed in bright scarves and winter hats.

Discover the district with the route ‘Šnipiškės. Vilnius Shanghai, Favela… And, of course, the very colourful backdrop for the skyscrapers of Konstitucijos Avenue’.

Naujamiestis installation

Instead of a traditional Christmas tree, a mysterious forest theme takes center stage. This is how Naujamiestis has dressed up, creating a woodland atmosphere with lighting in different colors in the square named after Sofija Kymantaitė-Čiurlionienė. Or perhaps these colors were inspired by the paintings of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis? After all, Vilnius was a pivotal city for both him and Sofija – it was here that they met, and they called the city “the most beautiful fairy tale.”

Explore the district with route ‘Naujamiestis. Once home to industrial ambitions; today home to fresh leisure and cultural initiatives’.

Naujoji Vilnia Christmas Tree

The beautifully renewed Naujoji Vilnia tree is always especially ornate and festive. Its branches carry traditional decorations and shimmering lights, while the district’s shops and institutions join in with their own Christmas touches. Throughout December, the Naujoji Vilnia Cultural Centre will host festive family workshops and concerts, and visitors are welcome to the indoor photo zone, featuring a Christmas post station. (The Cultural Centre is open daily from 09:00 to 21:00.)

Pilaitė Christmas Tree

“The anticipation of Christmas is like a quiet miracle descending into everyday life. It is a time when a slower pace feels natural, and the heart fills with warmth for no particular reason. In the light of candles, coziness is born; the scent of a Christmas tree brings back childhood memories and reminds us that miracles are most often found in simple things.”
With these words, the Pilaitė Eldership greets everyone ahead of the approaching holidays, inviting residents and visitors to the district’s main Christmas tree. It is decorated not only with garlands, baubles, and white ribbons, but also with cozy wooden little houses, as if taken from a winter fairy tale.

Discover the district with the route ‘Pilaitė. The old part with a castle and mills, and the new district with arches and fortress-like courtyards’.

Rasos Christmas Tree

You can visit the main Christmas tree of the Rasos district in Markučių Manor Park. It shines from afar with its ice-colored garlands.

Incidentally, the 19th-century wooden Markučių Manor has become a branch of the Vilnius City Museum this year. It has preserved its authentic interior, so after visiting the Christmas tree, stop by the manor itself.

Explore the district with the route “Rasos. A part of old Vilnius that even has art deco architecture.”

Sleighs near the Naujininkai Christmas Tree

In Naujininkai, a natural spruce tree is decorated with colorful ornaments and garlands. Its uniqueness lies in the reindeer-drawn sleighs standing under its branches. This light installation reminds us that what we are all waiting for is coming very soon.

Explore the neighborhood with the route “Naujininkai. One of the oldest residential areas in Vilnius, next to the railway”.

The Halė Market Christmas Tree

This year’s tree at Halė Market reflects Vilnius’ double title: European Green Capital and European Christmas Capital 2025. Created by artist Lukas Svirplys, the tree symbolises community, festive warmth, and sustainability.

It feels as if the Halė community itself had ‘made it happen’ this year by building a silhouette crafted from boxes and fir branches, food-themed details, and ribbons sewn from old aprons and tablecloths. Most of the decorations are reused or sourced from thrift spots, donations, and community exchanges. The result is not just a beautiful festive accent in the city centre but a Christmas tree that embodies the spirit of generous sharing in the community, creative collaboration, and thoughtful, responsible consumption.

The Festive Paupys

Paupys attracts locals and visitors alike with its open-air gallery and its original Christmas decorations. The four-metre-tall festive deer that dominated here last year have given way to elegant snowballs and an ice-cream-shaped installation melting into the fountain near Paupys Market. The central square is adorned with a decorative skating rink surrounded by snowball-like baubles.

If Vilnius ends up with a snowless winter, Paupys will be the place to capture bright, wintry, and undeniably Instagrammable photos.

Explore the district with the route ‘Paupys: The harmony between old and new in historic Paplauja.’

The Festive Station

Choo choo – Christmas is coming with the rhythm of the rails! LTG Link once again invites everyone to the festively decorated Vilnius Railway Station. Christmas music will fill the air, and music-themed decorations will adorn the station hall, with instruments hanging from the tree, and treble clefs perched in the waiting area. At the Railway Depot Park and the Railway Museum, Santa Claus and creative workshops await (the programme details are available in Lithuanian HERE). And for those craving the feeling of travel, magical Christmas trains are ready to depart.

You can choose from five routes – from Kaunas, Trakai, Klaipėda, Turmantas, and Warsaw – but for most passengers, the highlight is not the destination but the journey itself. Inside the special carriages, you will find red carpets, wood panelling, golden details, miniature musical instruments, champagne-tinted lighting, swaying Christmas trees, vintage suitcases, velvet-covered seats, and other festive touches. Who knows – perhaps this year the Christmas spirit will arrive by train.

Trakų Vokė Manor (Paneriai) Christmas Tree

One of the most magnificent and elegant Christmas trees in Vilnius stands at the Trakų Vokė Manor, protected by lanterns decorated with glowing pine cones. The manor’s neighborhood undoubtedly gives it a touch of Christmas magic.

The festive mood also reigns at Trakų Vokė Manor itself, where Christmas trees also shine in its halls. Therefore, it is worth checking the manor’s event calendar before visiting. Exhibitions, educational events, and workshops are held here, and you can treat yourself to delicacies at the manor café.

Explore the area with the route “Trakų Vokė. A jewel in Vilnius’ crown”

Vilkpėdė Christmas Trees

There are probably no other Christmas trees twins like these in any other city in Lithuania. Just as last year, the Vilkpėdė district eldership has decorated two naturally intertwined conifer trees with glowing garlands. Perhaps the Christmas wishes spoken beside them will be doubled as well?

Discover the district with the route ‘Vilkpėdė. The legendary area of ‘Wolf’s Footprint’ has witnessed leaps in the industrial progress of Vilnius’.

Viršuliškės Christmas Tree

To see the top of the Viršuliškės spruce, you will have to tilt your head back. The spruce in this district is truly tall! If you look closely, you will see that its branches are not only covered with red bubbles, but also natural pine cones. And the pine cone symbol adorns the whole of Vilnius this year.

Get to know the district with the route “Viršuliškės A village that turned into one of the rapidly expanding parts of Vilnius“.

Šeškinė Christmas Tree

It is said that apples were among the first decorations used on Christmas trees. The natural green tree from Šeškinė, decorated with classic red bubbles resembling ripe apples, is reminiscent of this story. However, wax candles, which used to shine on Christmas trees, are becoming increasingly rare – they have probably been irrevocably replaced by fairy lights.

Get to know the district with the route “Šeškinė. From a village of 84 inhabitants to a micro-district of 30,000”

Žirmūnai Christmas Tree

Who can count all the pine cones hanging on the branches of the Žirmūnai spruce? Although natural decorations are modest, they perfectly complement the sparkle of Christmas toys. Moreover, it is no coincidence that the spruce has become a traditional festive tree. Apart from the fact that it looks very beautiful when decorated, the fact that the spruce does not shed its needles throughout the year symbolizes eternal life, strength, and hope that light will return after the winter cold and darkness.

Explore the district with the route ‘Žirmūnai. Some of the oldest large-scale residential blocks and architectural giants on the right bank of the Neris’.

Žvėrynas snowflakes and horses

This year, the Christmas tree in Žvėrynas is shining blue. The mood of the ice kingdom is created by the sparkling snowflakes hanging from its branches and a couple of large snowflakes that have fallen to the ground.

After visiting this tree, stop by Sėlių 27. This beauty salon surprises visitors with original decorations every season. This winter, wooden horses swing among mysterious mushrooms and cupcakes in the courtyard, reminding us that the Year of the Fire Horse is coming!

Explore the district with the ‘Žvėrynas. Prestigious throughout the ages – wooden architecture and composers’ quarter ahead of its time on the edge of Old Town’ route.
