Reformatų Park
Reformatų Park is a green space located in the very centre of Vilnius, on Pylimo Street, opposite the Evangelical Reformed Church.
The park was established in the Soviet era to replace the Evangelical Reformed Cemetery. In addition to the cemetery, the territory of the park was previously home to the Szretter family chapel, the Synod House (a building that has survived to the present day and is now residential apartments), the Consistory building and one more wooden Reformed Church. The history of Reformatų Park dates back to 1582 and spans several centuries.
In 2021, the park was renovated in order to integrate the surviving elements of cultural and natural value into a garden ensemble that will give new meaning to the historical identity of the area. The areas of the Reformatų Park are now planted with groundcovers and bulbous spring flowers. The renovation of the park was aimed at turning the area into an ornithologically attractive habitat for birds, enriching the biodiversity and creating a cosy space for everyday life for the citizens. In addition, a suitable location for a park monument was found and the transit path system was adjusted.
The new park is a space for leisure, recreation, culture and historical knowledge, accessible and close to every citizen and visitor of Vilnius. Just outside the park, you will find the public transport stop ‘Reformatų stotelė’, so you will be able to reach the green recreational area of the city quickly and conveniently.
