Pasakų (Fairytale) Park

When designing residential areas, green spaces were consciously left between them. One such green space is located between Karoliniškės and Lazdynai – the Fairy Tale Park, designed by the landscape architect Romualdas Jurgilis and opened in 1987. Wooden sculptures with motifs from fairy tales and Lithuanian mythology decorate the paths winding through the pine forest. It is a good place for a walk, a workout, or a picnic while enjoying the fresh air. Don’t be surprised if you see a squirrel or a rare bird. Since 2019, the park has been home to an artistic and educational installation, where colourful illustrations of famous urban legends and stories are projected onto the ground from projectors at the top of the trees, and information boards nearby give you a closer look at the city’s most famous legends.
