The founder of the “Vilnoja” sculpture park in Sudervė, has been collecting Lithuanian works for about 20 years
self-portraits created by artists. Over the years, the collection has grown into a rich collection of more than 300 works by more than 200 authors.

The collection of self-portraits gathered by Vidmantas Martikonis became the basis of a new gallery – museum
“Self-Portrait” – for the appearance in one of the oldest buildings in Vilnius, Pilies g. 12, in the Gothic XVI century.
