VDA gallery “5 malūnai”

“5 malūnai” is an experimental exhibition space at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (VDA).
Gallery “5 malūnai” was founded in 2014. VDA in the New Palace (near Vilnelė, after crossing the “Fluxus” bridge). With the place, it is at its exact address – Malūnų g. 5. – the name of the gallery is also associated. The activity of the gallery aims to promote the artistic, social, interdisciplinary project activities of VDA students, encourage them to experiment and become more open and visible to the public by presenting the results of their work and studies in the format of exhibitions. Although the Academy owns at least several galleries in Vilnius, “5 malūnai” stands out for its unique location, which is associated with the identity and concept of the gallery: everyone who enters or leaves the VDA New Palace becomes a spectator and/or a participant of the exhibition taking place at that time. It is a space for self-examination and encouragement before entering the galleries of the city, the country and the world.
The gallery is open to creative statements, manifestos, collaborations, creative workshops, seminars, presentations of study results of all VDA and foreign academies, art university students, teachers, artists in the format of personal and group exhibitions.
