TSEKH Gallery
Successful Ukrainian Contemporary Art Gallery “ЦЕХ” July 26, 2016 TSEKH Gallery opened its branch in Vilnius. The gallery has been operating in Kyiv since 2005 and is currently one of the most successful participants in the Ukrainian contemporary art scene. The opening of the gallery is an important cultural event for Vilnius as well – private exhibition spaces of this size have never existed here. The new gallery “TSEKH Gallery” is located in Naujamiestis district, Vytenio g. 6, the lobby of the former builders’ cultural palace. Until 1939 it was planned to build a church here, but the construction stopped after the change of government. Later, at the beginning of the 1960s, the building was completed as a builders’ cultural palace. After regaining independence, the owners of the building changed, but none of them managed to fix the huge, windswept lobby. After the repair works, a new exhibition space with an area of about 300 m² and a height of 7 meters opened its doors to Vilnius residents and guests of the city.
