Lithuanian Police Museum

The Museum of the Lithuanian Police invites you to learn about the historical development of the Lithuanian police. Using modern smart technologies, the story of the Lithuanian police is told from its founding to the present day.

In the exhibition, you will find firearms used in different periods, special protective, radio communication, and speed control tools, official uniform clothing, awards, and other exhibits. The historic service motorcycle BMW 1150 RT catches the eye of every visitor. This motorcycle accompanied the convoy of United States President George Bush during his visit to Lithuania on November 22-23, 2002. Here you will find many more interesting historical exhibits.

The police museum presents an innovative novelty. Using extremely modern transparent active glass technologies and three-dimensional holographic animation, an interactive exhibition has been created. It tells the story of the cunningly murdered officers of Panevėžys from the ‘Tulip’ criminal organization.

Museum visitors can look forward to another interactive novelty – 360-degree virtual reality video reports. By diving into virtual reality, visitors will be able to participate in an operation conducted by the Lithuanian police’s anti-terrorist operations unit “Aras” – the apprehension of armed criminals. Another virtual reality video report tells visitors about the police dog handler and the service dog’s arrest of criminals.

Visitors will be able to test their knowledge about the transportation of the Lithuanian police by trying out a technological innovation in Lithuanian museums – a magnetic puzzle game. You will see special 360-degree light boxes showcasing moments from the Lithuanian national revival and the transformation of the militia into the police.

We warmly invite you to visit!

The museum is free of charge, but prior registration is required at tel. +370 646 33 569 or via email at vlada.draguniene@policija.lt.
