Karoliniškės Landscape Reserve
On the other side of Vingis Park, between the residential areas and the River Neris, there is a vast area that lives up to the idea that Vilnius is a green city. If you’re not feeling energetic, you can just slowly glide along the banks of the Neris, and if you’re thirsty for exercise, you can climb steep gullies and add new viewpoints to your collection of top spots in Vilnius. There are even places where you’ll have to climb up tree roots! The best place to start your tour of the 162-hectare nature reserve is from the Plikakalnis outcrop in Lazdynai, the forest near the house at Sausio 13-osios g. 5 in Karoliniškės, or from the Žvėrynas waterfront near the pedestrian bridge leading to Vingis Park.
