Japanese garden
From now on, Šnipiškės can be called a district between two Japans – from the Čiunė Sugihara cherry blossom park on Upės Street to the new Japanese garden on Linkmenų Street.
The latter is arranged according to the requirements of a traditional Japanese garden with the main elements: a hill symbolizing the Fuji volcano, stones, dry rivers, lime trees, a pond, a waterfall. In the spring, visitors are attracted by the avenue of 20 Japanese cherry trees. The five-hectare Japanese garden not only preserved the old mature trees, but also planted 700 new ones. For families with children, there is a playground, lighting, walking paths, benches, drinking water fountains.
The Japanese believe that going for a walk in a garden is the key to regaining spiritual balance. By the way, relaxing walks in the garden are recommended clockwise.
