Railway Museum
The Railway Museum is the first Railway Museum in Lithuania, opened in 1966.
The museum is housed in the historic passenger palace of Vilnius Railway Station, built in the 19th century. The Passenger House of Vilnius Railway Station is a historic building and is an ideal place for the Railway Museum to touch the past and experience the atmosphere of different historical periods. The new museum exhibition invites you to visit the most modern space of the Railway Museum – “A colourful journey”! Visitors will find many different spaces divided into stations and platforms.
Visit the interactive Train, Signal, Work and other stations to discover the mysteries of railway history on your own or with a guide. Immerse yourself in the daily life of a train driver in virtual reality, climb onto the interactive floors to discover the behind-the-scenes of a railway depot, and discover what lurks in the Paneriai Tunnel when the trains stop running in the projections. In the Children’s Station, dedicated to the Museum’s youngest visitors, you will discover a working model of the Little Children’s Railway, as well as the Challenge, Toddler, Cognition and Games platforms.
